Reception 2 Home Learning (week beginning Monday 11th January 2021)

Date: 8th Jan 2021 @ 11:23am

Hello everyone,

We hope you are all keeping well.

Attached below is the Home Learning grid for the week commencing Monday 11th January 2021, along with all the resources you may need to go alongside the activities planned. Feel free to print these or create your own. Please remember these are suggested activities, we don’t want you to feel pressured to complete everything listed. It may work for some and it may not work for others. You are all doing an amazing job and hopefully we will all find a way that works for us.
However, we would suggest you prioritise Read, Write, Inc and number sessions each day.

Don’t forget to have lots of opportunities to play too, this is so important! Children are always learning, problem solving and finding new ways of doing things through their play.

From Wednesday 13thJanuary, some of our teaching sessions will be held live on Zoom. All being well, a member of the Reception team will be available at: 9:30AM each morning for Morning Motivator (please have paper and pencils or a dry wipe board and pen with you) this will be approx. 15 mins. Then, 11:30AM each morning for Maths Meeting (please have paper and pencils or a dry wipe board and pen with you as well as your number line from your journal) this will be approx. 30 mins. Finally, 2:45PM each afternoon for Story Time.

Monday (11th) and Tuesday’s (12th) sessions will be pre-recorded and available to view on our website, with live teaching starting Wednesday 13th January.

We have suggested these timings so you can still access physical activity e.g. PE with Joe Wicks at 9AM, your specific RWI sessions on YouTube at 10AM and any topic activities e.g. The Home Learning Grid or Purple Mash after lunch time.

It would be really beneficial for your child to be there at these times but we understand schedules do vary. We will try our hardest to have these videos recorded and available the same day on our website.

Links to live sessions will be emailed to you each morning via School Spider for the three separate meetings.

We have also attached a ‘mini guide’ for Purple Mash on our website this week, this will help you upload pictures of things you have done in addition to anything set. Do show us what you’ve been up to, whether it’s baking, painting or walking!

Keep smiling,

Miss Hesketh and Mrs. Fegan smiley

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
