Don't forget: Wear a Hat to School day is on Thursday 28th March, our last day of term. We are requesting a voluntary £1 donation to Brain Tumour Research, a charity close to our hearts, having lost staff and parents to this cancer over the last few years. Thanks for your support!

Welcome

Welcome to St Luke's Church of England Primary School.

I would like to welcome you to the St Luke’s CE Primary School website.  At St Luke’s we see education very much as a partnership between school and home. It is our aim that the shared responsibility of learning, care and discipline will result in a close liaison, with families and school working together. This partnership is confirmed in the Home/School Agreement.

St Luke’s was opened in 1911 as a two classroom Church of England school that had previously existed in a house on Raven Meols Lane. We now have fourteen classrooms, two playgrounds, a lovely story-telling garden, a wild meadow and a sports field!  Although the school has grown considerably, we believe we have been able to maintain the ethos of a smaller school: friendly and welcoming, with every child valued as an individual within a Christian family atmosphere.

When the Baroness of Crosby, Shirley Williams, came to open our extension, she said: “There is a wonderful energy about this school when you walk in. You can feel the spirit of co-operation. It is a credit to the dedication of the teachers.”

Our latest Church school inspection report states: "The quality of relationships between all members of the school community is excellent and this, together with the emphasis on caring for others, makes an exceptional contribution to the pupils’ social and moral development. Pupils have positive attitudes to their learning and they know they are valued and respected by staff. All pupils feel safe and special. The pupils are proud of their school and speak confidently about why it is special to them."

I hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find any information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school direct with any queries you may have.

Thank you for visiting!

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
