The weekly plan is named: Week 1 Unit Plan. This document includes lots of activities that the children can access with web links to support resources. There are other files attached on this page that the children will need: Geography PowerPoint and activity sheets, Spellings, and the Home Learning File. Enjoy the activites and stay positive Y4. Thank-you for doing your very best with this week's home learning. Stay safe and take care. smiley

Finally, remember the daily maths challenge for Y3/4 Y5/6 which can be found by visiting :

Many thanks, the Yr 4 team.

MARCH 6th -  The new Spring 2 home learning grid has now been uploaded and a copy will be inside your child's home learning book.

During maths we will be looking at adding and subtracting fractions. Some of the children are still finding the concept of equivalent fractions tricky so it would be useful to continue to practise the method using multiplication and division facts.

For home work this week, we would like the children to count up and back in fractions and look at the equivlent fractions too. E.g  counting in 1/6's  1/6 , 2/6 (1/3), 3/6 (1/2), 4/6 (2/3), 5/6, 1, 1/6, 1 2/6 (1 1/3) etc...

As the X table test is upcoming in June, it is important that your child increases their speed of  recall. We have posted some online resources that could be useful on the Yr4 blog page.

Please listen to your child read each day for approximately 15 minutes. Encourage the use of expression and read some of the text with them to model it and make it fun! Why not read two pages and then your child reads a page. Discuss the txt and enjoy this time reading together.

Always ensure that your child's home learning book is neatly completed even if it is a board game that they played. They can write a short account including what the game was, who played it and how it went.

This week's spelling sheet can be found on this page too. We study each unit over a two week period. At the beginning of week 1 we will put the spellings on the web site, and at the end of week 2, the children are tested on the words. There will always be 6 words taken from the Year 4 spelling list along with 9 unit words.

This week's spellings:  To go live Tuesday 10th March.Adding the prefix il- and revising un- in- mis- and dis-  The test will be on Friday 20th March.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
