Year One Blog 24.6.22

Date: 24th Jun 2022 @ 3:59pm

Sunshine, sports and the seaside. What could be better! Our practising for Sports Day continued as well as the development of our under water dance sequence. So many amazing ideas, from the children, as they represented their creatures of the sea. We selected some shells, from our collection, to try out our plasticine shell printing before creating our final scenes. Our discussions about fruit and vegetables continued. Thank you for the related homeworks establishing where favourite fruits come from. Animal diets were also discussed, and we grouped animals according to the food they eat. Exciting times, next week, when we have our transition morning, on Thursday, and meet our new class teachers. Lots to look forward to, once again.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
