Year One Blog 17. 6.22

Date: 16th Jun 2022 @ 6:08pm

Today we said goodbye to Miss Duffy. We wish her happiness as she moves on to pastures new. The excitement is rising for our up and coming Sports Day. The children had a fabulous time practising for it,  this week. Take a look at our action packed photographs. We also spent time with our buddies, conducted a survey about their favourite fruits. We look forward to making them their own, unique, fruit salads. Delicious! In art, we completed our marvellous magic potions using our original observational drawings and oil pastels. It was time for time and we got busy reading and representing it. We move onto money in the coming week. Fabulous! Next week, we look forward to Alice Cunningham, a PCSO, coming to chat with us about road safety and on Tuesday it is our class photos. Thursday is our school disco! Another wonderful week to look forward to.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
