Year 6 Weekly Blog 8.12.23

Date: 8th Dec 2023 @ 3:33pm

In maths, we have been learning about how to change kilometres to metres, metres to centimetres and centimetres to millimetres. Some it has been challenging but our teachers have been helping us and pushing us to our best standards. We have been learning about and acting out greek democracy, olympics and much more ! We are enjoying learning about Alexander the great and all his incredible achievements. We are also preparing to write a non - chronological report about this. In guided reading, we have been reading a booklet and answering a question sheet, the booklet contains 3 stories/fact file and we have been answering questions about each story and fact file the subjects are, the park, bumblebee fact file and the music box. In outdoor P.E we are doing tag rugby this is a competitive sport wich we are all enjoying 2 teams must compete against each other to score tries and win the game this is of course not as aggressive as normal rugby but still just as fun, we also  have to pull each others tag of to get the ball and stop them winning! 6H also visited the museum this week to learn more about the Greeks, see our amazing photos below.

Tuesday 19th December will be our Christmas takeover day and for this the children in Year 6 will need to bring in a party plate to have for their lunch. If there are any issues with this, please let us know.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
