Year 5 Weekly Blog (8. 2. 19)

Date: 8th Feb 2019 @ 5:31pm

Another exciting week in Year 5 has drawn to a close. The children have focussed on poetry this week, looking at Pie Corbett's Six Ways to Look at the Moon. The children have then work in groups to learn and act out the poem, before writing one of their own to great effect.

We have started to look at decimals this week and they children have enjoyed using their reasoning skills in our opening few lessons, comparing the size of decimals and ordering them.

We have also enjoyed experimenting with water resistance, looking at the effect it has on boats of different shapes and how buoyancy of objects is affected by the different type of water. The children set up and carried out their won experiments, making predictions and conclusions using their scientific inquiry skills.
