Year 6 Weekly Blog (30. 11. 18)

Date: 29th Nov 2018 @ 6:59pm

Year 6 have been given the opportunity to show off a lot of their learning and progress this week, and they have really stepped up to the challenge. The children have been using their learning and understanding around Goodnight Mr Tom, in order to compose newspapers about The Blitz. The questions about this period that have been asked by the children, has highlighted their keen interest and maturity of thought.

Decimals are our current focus within Maths, but we haven’t forgotten about our old friends the fractions. We are demonstrating links between these in lots of different ways, and for lots of the children who have found these areas tricky in the past, things are really starting to fall into place with their grasp of how fractions and decimals are related.

We have had a wonderful week overall and all of the children enjoyed our Golden Ticket Celebration; there was den-building and lots of games, which the children and adults enjoyed thoroughly. Thank you to all of the adults at home who helped to organise the extra things that the children brought into school to make it an afternoon to remember.

Our Superstars this week are James S (6G) and Alex B (6WD). You two have been role models this week so please keep this up.
