Year 5 Weekly Blog (23. 11. 18)

Date: 23rd Nov 2018 @ 7:34pm

Another fantastic week in Year 5 draws itself to a close. Poetry has been the main focus in our English lessons, with the children reflecting upon Jim’s attempted escape and attack in Street child. The children have come up with some powerful Haiku’s about his feelings and have used amazing imagery to compose longer poetry about the attack.

In maths we have moved on to division, with the children securing their knowledge and understanding of the process. Can we note that these are the last “pure” lessons on the four calculations and so any practise of these at home would be greatly appreciated.

We had a visit from Reverend Nichol on Thursday as he talked about his time spent on a pilgrimage to the Holy land. The children listened intently and asked some quality questions, culminating our learning in R.E.. We also had a trip to the PDC to watch

Our amazing superstars this week are Joe (5J) and Jessica (5L). Well done to both of you!
