Year 5 Weekly Blog 18.3.22

Date: 18th Mar 2022 @ 3:02pm

This week, we have been practising in preparation for our play, Rock bottom. Certain people have been practising their dancing and others have been rehearsing their scenes.

We did some work in English about finishing a famous poem called the listeners. We all wrote a part two to the continue the story.  We then designed a creepy house to use as a front cover to our story. It was very fun to do.

We did a scavenger hunt around the school (the field and playground ) in preparation for Maths day and we found a lot of things using our mathematical minds. In maths lessons, we learnt about how to turn fractions into percentages and vice versa.

In science, we learned about separating liquids and solids and liquids from liquids using filtering, sieving and mangnetism. it was very fun to do!

This weeks blog was written by Eva and Amber from 5L

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
