Year 5 Weekly Blog (14. 12. 18)

Date: 13th Dec 2018 @ 5:46pm

Another term is steadily approaching it’s end, and in Year 5 so is our time with the Victorians. We have managed to finish reading Street Child and have found out the fate of Jim and his happily ever after. We have also discovered that his saviour was Dr Barnardo, the man who inspired Barnardo’s Children’s Charity. We looked at his life in detail and how important his work was, both back in Victorian times as well as in the present.

We have also spent a lot of time this week cross stitching, which was a traditional Victorian pass time. The children have really enjoyed the time spent on the cards and we would like to thank all of the helpers who volunteered to come in; the children really did feel the benefit of your assistance.

Well done to our Superstars for the week: Thomas and Isabella (both 5J) and Leah (5L).

We look forward to the final week of our Autumn Term which will be an exciting one, including a trip to church and our annual Christmas party!
