Year 5 Weekly Blog (14. 5. 21)

Date: 11th May 2021 @ 10:34am

Another great week in year 5. We have continued looking at the poem "The Listeners" and created our own spooky settings, full of ambitious vocabulary and tension. In Science, we have been saturating water with salt and sugar and comparing the difference between the 2 solids. In art we have been learning new watercolor techniques including a technique that involves salt to create a bumpy effect. Today we took part in a whole day zoom session with Everton in the Community, where we did lots of physical activities as well as sessions on anxiety, managing emotions and healthy eating. It was lots of fun as well as being thought provoking and giving us lots of tips.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
