Year 4 Weekly Blog (6. 11. 20)

Date: 4th Nov 2020 @ 1:05pm

Hello and welcome back to a new half term. The children have settled back into the swing of things brilliantly and we are really proud of how well they are continuing to follow all of the precautions necessary at this time. 4C began their swimming lessons on Wednesday but now have to wait until at least December to resume them due to the lock down measures that the Government has put in place. We all began our invasion skills games lessons this week in the form of netball; the children demonstrated great passing and receiving skills and are now mastering their movement into space to avoid the opposition intercepting a pass.

In maths we have been looking at dividing numbers and the vocabulary associated with it. The children really appreciated the practical time spent arranging their counters to see what was happening when they were sharing/grouping numbers. Next week, we will be dividing with remainders.

In English, we have finally finished our River poems and the children were brilliant at evidencing their success criteria onbjectives and RAG ing their own and their partners work. They are currently writing these up in neat and adding pictures to celebrate the hard work that they have put into their work.

Next week, their is another TT Rock Stars challenge and it would be great for ALL of our Yr4s to contribute to their class points total. There will be healthy competition between the two classes and their teachers!

Poppies are on sale in each classroom for 50p.

Have a safe and restful weekend.

Many thanks,

Mr Williams and Mrs Cocks

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
