Year 4 Weekly Blog (30.3.19)

Date: 30th Mar 2019 @ 1:13pm

Hello and welcome to the this week's blog.

Another busy week has been had by all and all the children began their Winmarleigh Hall scrap booking posters. The children were asked to bring in some items to add to their design so if your child hasn't yet done so, then it's still not too late. In maths, we have been further studying fractions and changing improper fractions to mixed numbers and simplifying these if needed. We have also begun adding fractions which the children have worked really well with. In science, we conducted a fair test investigation related to electrical insulators and conductors. We tried to catch them out by providing them with a plastic 'metal looking' spoon and fork to see if they would predict these to be conductors and not in need insulators. However, this back fired when some children managed to make these conduct electricity, create a complete electrical circuit and make the bulb light up! Next week, we have a really busy week. We are practising for the Easter service, which will be held at church next Friday and will be visiting church on Tuesday morning to have a run through. In the afternoon we will be doing some more walking when we take the short trip to Range High to watch a production. We also have the Year 5 production to watch as well. Have a lovely weekend. The Year 4 team.
