Year 4 Weekly Blog (25. 01. 19)

Date: 27th Jan 2019 @ 11:45am

This week we have been on the edge of our seats reading "Fox". There have been lots of twists and turns in the story and the children have been excellent in their predictions and in thinking about why the characters have been behaving the way they have.

In maths, the children have been using their brilliant knowledge of the X tables in a more formal method of column multiplication. Lots of practise will be required as this is the first time they have seen this method. It would be great to work on this as a whole family.

Winmarleigh Hall is not far off now and the children have now completed their rooming choices! There is a meeting to discuss plans for the residential this Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the school hall.

In Science, we have been busy classifying our vertebrates and the children thoroughly enjoyed the YES/NO classification game. Their questions were pretty impressive!

On Thursday, the school choir performed their Peace Proms songs to the whole school. They sounded amazing. Well done to all our year 4's who sang in Liverpool yeasterday.

Thank-you for ensuring that your child has their PE kits in school at all times,  and their games kit on their alloted day. 4W began their swimming lessons which went "swimmingly" well!
