Year 4 Weekly blog 20.10.22

Date: 20th Oct 2022 @ 2:37pm

Well we’ve got to the end of our first half term in Year 4! What a great start to the year, we have had!

In Maths, the children have continued adding with renaming, and they are becoming more accurate in their calculating.

In Art, the children have completed their concertina booklets and have used watercolour paint to add subtle colour to their monochrome sketches.

We have had a busy week completing our DT project. The children have designed a book jacket, then made a paper mock up for their book jacket. They then prepared their fabric, before carefully sewing their book jacket. They finally added their initials to their finished work.

The children have well and truly earned their half term break. Fingers crossed the weather stays dry, so they can enjoy some family time, before beginning their next exciting half term!

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
