Year 4 Weekly Blog (2. 10. 2020)

Date: 1st Oct 2020 @ 12:49pm

The weeks seem to be flying by! The children have been working really hard with their writing this week and Mrs Cowey very kindly commented on how well the children have been taking pride in their presentation.

The Water Cycle song(s) went down well with the children and this really helped them in their explanation writing and their narrative piece about the adventures of Dropletta.

In maths we have been working hard with our additions, in both mental and written forms. The children are now happy to change this sum -  2998 + 305 =    into 3000 + 303 =  and work out the answer in their heads. Pretty impressive don't you think.

We have notived a big improvement in form and fitness during our circuit activity sessions and this is great preparation for upcoming intra-school challenges that we have planned for the coming weeks.

Our new St Luke's church Vicar, Reverend Matt Davis, sent us a welcome video that was shared with the children and they are all very much looking forward to meeting him in person. Rev. Matt will be hosting school assemblies from the vicarage over the coming weeks for us to watch and take part in.

Next Wednesday is the Merseyside schools' virtual 1 mile run, where we are hoping as many children from around Merseyside will be able to come together to celebrate getting out in the fresh air and moving. It will also be nice to know that we are all becoming united (albeit virtually) through sport.

Have a safe, happy and enjoyable weekend everyone.

From Mr Williams and Mrs Cocks.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
