Year 4 Weekly Blog (1. 2. 19)

Date: 3rd Feb 2019 @ 4:01pm

So we are at the end of week 4 of Spring 1 with just 2 weeks left until half term. It might have been cold outside but all the hard work inside has generated lots of warmth in our classrooms!

4C have been busy creating some fabulous gymnastic sequences whilst 4W have been improving their swimming strokes. We could get outside for games this week and Mr Smith had the children having lots of energetic fun during circuit training activities including: sprinting, balancing, jumping and throwing. All these skills will be used when we begin the new sports hall athletics lessons.

In art, the children have been continuing their aboriginal dot art designs, which will look truly awesome when they begin with the paints!

In English, we are so close to finishing our ‘edge of the seat’ book: Fox. The children enjoyed their conscience alley activity as well as our lively debates about the characters, their actions and their intentions.

From next week, fruit will be sold by our Yr5’s at 20p per piece. What a great way to work towards our 5-a-day.

If you missed the Winmarleigh Hall meeting on Wednesday evening, then the PowerPoint can be found on the Year 4 class page. Please remember to send in the forms ASAP. Thank-you. To finish the week, we visited our Buddy classes and the children spent time reading the fable booklets that they had created. It’s always lovely to see the older children interacting so well with the younger pupils. Well done Year 4! See the Y4 class page for some photos.

Have a relaxing and safe weekend.
