Year 4 Blog 4.2.22

Date: 4th Feb 2022 @ 2:20pm

Year 4 have been as busy as usual this week!

In English, the children have been gathering evidence concerning Dr X. They are going to use all the evidence to write a balanced argument.

They have been thinking about whether Jesus was an inspiring teacher, in RE. The children discussed the parable of the two builders. They built two structures out of paper, one was secured to its base and the other was not. They tested their structures by blowing through a straw, to see what happened.

In science, they have been completing electrical circuits, using a switch. They added bulbs, buzzers and motors to their circuits.

In dance, the children have worked in small groups to develop creative dance movements to verse from a poem about Mummification.

The week concluded with some fund raising fun - a day of animal themed dressing up! Tigers, bears, pandas, lemas and many other species were spotted around classrooms and corridors of St Luke's!

Well done to our Weekly Superstars: -

4C: Aurora and Tom 4W.

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
