Year 4 Blog 3.11.23

Date: 3rd Nov 2023 @ 2:17pm

Welcome back to the Autumn term. The children have returned relaxed and settled, following their half term break.

In English, they have spent some time, excitedly sharing their half term experiences with each other. It sounds like they have all thoroughly enjoyed time spent with their families.

The children have been introduced to their new History topic, Anglo Saxons. They are looking forward to finding out about Life after the Romans.

In RE, the children have been thinking about- Why light is such a powerful symbol?

In Art, the children have been learning sketching techniques that they can use when sketching.

The children were introduced to Dodgeball in PE, learning some throwing and receiving techniques. They have also started Tag Rugby and the skill and tactics involved when playing within a team.

At the end of the week, the children excitedly met up with their buddies.

Well done to our Weekly Superstar: 4C: Heath and Olivia 4WM

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
