Year 4 blog 24.11.23

Date: 24th Nov 2023 @ 9:03am

What a busy week we have had, the children have been working their socks off. They have even managed to take part in the Snowball race 1 km daily run challenge!

In Maths the children have continued working with multiplication and commutativity, they have been looking at methods to multiply the same 2 numbers, and multiplying 3 numbers.

In History, the children have been looking at what life was like during the Anglo-Saxon period, by looking at primary sources. They have found out about two excavation sites in the UK that dug up lots of interesting evidence. They have been asking and answering questions based on the found treasures.

In Guided Reading, the children have read information about the artist Gustav Klimt. In Art, they have sketched a tree in the style of his Tree of Life.

In PSHE, they have been considering what makes a good friend?

A ‘big’ well done to our Weekly Superstars: 4C: Isabelle and Clara 4WM

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
