Year 4 blog 18.3.22

Date: 18th Mar 2022 @ 1:37pm

Year 4 had an amazing visit to the Philharmonic on Wednesday morning. The children were mesmerised by the sounds created by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. They were treated to many musical tracks based on migration and even accompanied the orchestra as the choir, singing ‘Songs of Home in Hope Street.’

In maths, the children have been simplifying fractions, by thinking of numbers that can divide equally into both the numerator and the denominator. They are also practising their tables regularly, in order to become times table whiz kids!

Yesterday (Thursday), 10 of our children represented Year 4 in the Southport and Formby Schools' Tag Rugby Tournament. They performed extremely well and finished joint top spot in their group, only missing out on a place in the final by the number of tries scored.

Keeping on a sporty note, on Wednesday, 6 of our children braved the less than ideal conditions at the Sefton Schools' Cross Country Championships. They competed brilliantly in the Year 5 catergoty and we are so proud of all their efforts.

For Comic relief, the children have been gathering ‘funny’ jokes to share. Each class was hopeful to have a winning joke for the end of the week. Albie represented 4C, as the class found his joke to be the funniest and Caden represented 4W.

Well done to our Weekly Superstars: -

4C: Alex and Isla H 4W.

Only 3 more sleeps to our exciting residential at CHET!!!!

Fingers crossed the weather continues to be sunny!

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
