Year 4 Blog 18.11.22

Date: 18th Nov 2022 @ 12:24pm

We’ve ended another busy week, with an exciting day celebrating Children in Need. The children came to school excitedly, looking very colourful.

At the beginning of the week, the children tasted, analysed and made biscuits, as part of their DT. They learned some skills and techniques and are eager to make more!!

In Maths the children have been working with multiples of 6 and 7. They are definitely getting more confident in their recall of the times table facts.

In English, the children have been asked by Dr X, to help get him out of prison. He has asked them to collect evidence to show that he is a good person at heart. They have planned what evidence they are going to use in their letters next week.

In History, the children have been looking at what life was like during the Anglo-Saxon period, by looking primary sources.

In Latin, the children had fun looking at Latin root words and joining two together to create their own inventions. They came up with some great inventions!

A ‘big’ well done to our Weekly Superstars: 4C: Beth and Autumn 4H

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
