We’ve ended another busy week, starting with ‘Odd socks’ Day for anti-bullying week and ending with an exciting day celebrating Children in Need. The children came to school excitedly, looking very colourful.

In Art, the children have used their sketching techniques and a selection of drawing materials to observe and sketch branches. They used their artist eyes to carefully look at the fine detail on their branches, and transferred their observations to their sketches.

In Maths the children have continued working with multiplication. They have enthusiastically taken part in the Maths No Problem ‘England Rocks’ daily challenge. The children are definitely getting more confident with their recall of the times table facts, due their constant overlearning of them.

In History, the children have been looking in more detail, at what happened during the period of Saxon England. The children worked together to put the order of events into a time line.

In Latin, the children had fun looking at Latin verb endings, answering questions and completing a crossword.

A ‘big’ well done to our Weekly Superstars: 4C: Flossi and Reve 4WM

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
