Year 4 blog 16.6.23

Date: 16th Jun 2023 @ 3:10pm

Thankfully, the sun has continued to shine for us this week! The children have been ‘working their socks off’ in the scorching heat! They are definitely ready for a relaxed weekend.

The children have been finding out about Europe. They have identified where European countries are located using an atlas. They have enjoyed looking at different landmarks and have used their detective skills to try and identify which country the landmarks belonged to.

In Science, the children have been looking at how the digestive system works, and coming across lots of new vocabulary.

In Maths, the children have continued working with money and they have been rounding amounts of money.

In PE, they excitedly enjoyed the start of their cricket lessons with, looking at the different positions, and practising how to hold a bat correctly.

We have had a great start to Art’s Week! The children proudly watched some of our past pupils perform for them in the hall. We were treated to singing, the playing of musical instruments and some super dancing. The children have enjoyed taking part in Maypole dancing with Catherine, on the field. They also had a super dance lesson with a different Catherine.  The children worked on a magnificent dance, based on a song from Matilda!

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
