Year 4 Blog 1.3.24

Date: 1st Mar 2024 @ 1:24pm

We’ve had another great week in Year 4.

In maths, the children have continued working with fractions. They have been choosing a method to help them subtract fractions accurately.

As writers, they have been developing super vocabulary in order to write effective sentences for Charlie and the Chocolate factory.

As historians, we have been looking at life in Ancient Sumer times. The children have been finding out when in history this was and where in the world it was.

As musicians, they were introduced to their new brass instrument and enjoyed making many interesting sounds, as they got used to the mouth pieces!!

The children of 4C had their last swimming lesson this week, ready for 4WM to begin their lessons next.

Well done to our Weekly Superstars: -

4C: Zaid and Ashley 4WM.

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
