Year 4 blog 10.3.23

Date: 10th Mar 2023 @ 2:08pm

We’ve had another great week in Year 4.

In maths the children’s new topic is fractions. They have been counting in hundredths.

As historians, we have been looking at life in Ancient Sumer times. The children have been finding out when in history this was and where in the world it was.

As scientists, the children have been looking at appliances, and deciding whether they use mains or battery electricity.

As musicians, they were introduced to their new brass instrument and had the chance to play a couple of pieces of music, containing notes C and D.

The children of 4C had their last swimming lesson this week, ready for 4H to begin their lessons next.

To top off the week, the children had great fun in the snow!

Well done to our Weekly Superstars: -

4C: Amber and Grace 4H.

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
