Year 3 Weekly Blog (25. 9. 20)

Date: 23rd Sep 2020 @ 3:43pm

25.9.20

Hello! This week we have been sooooo busy in Year 3. We have started to look at column addition of 3 digit numbers with renaming, written our own playscript using the wormy spaghetti scene from the Twits, learnt all about reflection and reflective surfaces and have started to create pictures in the style of Kandinsky!

Tonight the children have brought home their home learning books. All of the children’s passwords have been stuck on the inside of the back cover in case we set any homework via these platforms. Please take care of all these login in details as they are personal to your child. We know in the past some parents have taken a photograph of these details to keep on their phone for reference.

On Wednesday your child brought home an A3 sheet of paper from the cauliflower group. This is a huge fundraiser for school and allows your child to draw or paint a design which will then be printed up as a Christmas cards or small gifts ready to send to friends and family. Please support if you can.

Thank you to everyone who has sent in torches and watercolour palettes. Torches will be needed  this Thursday, 1st October, for our Science lesson so please send in.

This week we have found lots of the children are needing new pencils (we’ve clearly been working them too hard!) Can you please replenish your child’s resources when needed, along with topping up sanitiser bottles too. Thank you so much for all of your support in keeping all of us safe.

Finally, a big well done to this weeks Superstars, Leo and Noah. A great effort!

Happy weekend everyone – we can’t believe September is nearly over!

The Year 3 Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
