Year 3 Weekly Blog (22. 11. 19)

Date: 22nd Nov 2019 @ 10:26am

We have been so busy this week! Within English we have produced the most wonderful non-fiction leaflets all about Rocks. The children have used their newly acquired Science knowledge, alongside various research techniques, to produce some excellent pieces of writing!

Within Art we have begun to look at prehistoric cave paintings, how they were drawn, where they originated and what they depicted. The children really enjoyed looking at some and beginning to sketch their own.

We channelled our inner 'petrologists' during Science when we tested a selection of different rocks. We carried out various tests including hardness, permeability and acidity whilst making careful observations.

In a couple of weeks time the children will be designing and making their own Christmas decoration as part of Design Technology. We found last year that lots of the children wanted to use additional embellishments to those we provided so if you have any buttons, pom poms, ribbon etc that your child would like to use please send them into school in a labelled food bag. Additionally, if you have spare items that you no longer need then they would be gratefully received in school.

Additional Maths homework has been set on our Home Learning page this week alongside spellings to be tested next week.
