Year 3 Weekly Blog (20. 09. 19)

Date: 19th Sep 2019 @ 1:12pm

This week we have enjoyed lots more Art and Science. The children have used watercolours to produce work in the style of Kandinsky and the outcome is fantastic. We have also discussed light sources and non-light sources in Science with the children identifying those things that give us light. We also discussed the fact that reflective surfaces are not a source of light.

On Wednesday the children enjoyed a gymnastics session led by our student and past pupil, Abbie Caig, who also works for Beth Tweddle Gymnastics! The children loved every minute and some of them have shown themselves to have lots of super skills.

Within English we have written a range of prayers reflecting our Year 3 value of 'Thankfulness'. This has also begun our preparation for the Harvest service that we will be leading in Church.

Within Maths we have begun to look at addition and in particular the column method.

On the Home Learning page this week we have attached a list of spellings. Spellings will be posted fortnightly with the children having them for a week before they are tested on the following Friday. However, the children need to be secure in their spelling of the Year 1/2 Common Exception Words and the learning of these should remain a priority. Thank you for your continued support.
