Year 3 Weekly Blog (2. 7. 21)

Date: 28th Jun 2021 @ 12:46pm

2.7.2021

We have had such a busy week! Continuing with our Romans topic the children have begun to produce some excellent work in English. Focussing on the eruption of Mount Vesuvius and the destruction of Pompei, the children have started to plan a piece of writing in the first person putting themselves in the shoes of all of those who perished during this disaster. We are looking forward to reading the finished pieces next week.

On Thursday we enjoyed a special dance lesson led by Esmee who works for Wally Cain. Wally Cain is an annual dance festival which has been unable to go ahead this year due to the current situation. Therefore we were able to access this specialist dance session and the children loved it. It was based on the Romans and the children achieved so much in such a small amount of time.

We have thoroughly enjoyed looking at all of the amazing homework that the children have brought in. The quality of the shields are fantastic!!

Next week is our ROMAN DAY! We are so looking forward to it. Please remember that the children will need to come to school dressed as a Roman or a Celt on Friday.

***Well done to our Superstars – Beau, Isla and Jess***

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
