Don't forget: Wear a Hat to School day is on Thursday 28th March, our last day of term. We are requesting a voluntary £1 donation to Brain Tumour Research, a charity close to our hearts, having lost staff and parents to this cancer over the last few years. Thanks for your support!

Year 3 Weekly Blog (13. 11. 20)

We have had the most wonderful week in Year 3! Throwing ourselves into our new topic we have started to question ‘What is under our feet?’ This has led us to looking at what the Earth is made of and finding out that it is made up of many layers. To further our understanding we created ‘layer puddings’ using a range of food items to represent the various layers. Ask your child all about it.

Within Maths we are continuing to look at the 3 and 4 times tables. Please encourage your child to access TTRockstars at home. (Log in details can be found in the front of your child’s home learning book.)

Thank you to all of those parents who have booked a parents’ evening appointment. It was really lovely to see lots of you last night (without a mask!) and discuss how your child has settled into Year 3. We look forward to speaking to the rest of you next week.

On Thursday we had the first of our Forest School sessions within the school grounds and, as it was part of our Golden Ticket reward, we had the best time toasting marshallows and making s’mores. We also used compasses and completed a scavenger hunt alongside weeding the beds in the school garden. We had a fabulously mucky, messy afternoon and are looking forward to next week.

Finally, we enjoyed cheering Joe Wicks to the finish line of his 24hr fitness challenge for Children in Need this morning. Take a look at the photo of us all doing the final exercise of ‘Silly Billy’s’. Thank you all for your kind donations, it really does make a difference.

Have a super weekend,

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
