Year 3 Weekly Blog (11. 12. 20)

Sparkle and Shine! We have had the sparkliest of weeks designing and making our felt Christmas tree decorations. We have spread glitter and Christmas cheer and tried our personal best to create a special keepsake. We hope you enjoy hanging yours on your tree.

We enjoyed our last Forest School session yesterday and learnt how to boil water in the Kelly Kettle to enjoy a warming hot chocolate – delicious! The children have thoroughly enjoyed this experience and we hope to be able to do more sessions later in the school year as the seasons change.

Today we had so much fun at the Santa Dash. The children were delighted running through the “snow” and dancing along to the Christmas music. We were also extremely lucky with the weather and had a really lovely time.

Next week is extremely busy. Monday is ‘Breakfast with Santa’. There is a change in time and this is now 8:10 as opposed to 8am as previously advertised. Tuesday is our Christmas Movie Party and the children can come to school in their own clothes. Thursday is Christmas jumper day and Friday the last day of the term! Wow!

Finally we would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who donated food items for our ‘reverse’ advent calendar. We were truly bowled over by your generosity and your donations will go a long way towards helping a family in need.

Have a great weekend,

The Year 3 Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
