Year 3 Weekly Blog (11. 10. 19)

Date: 12th Oct 2019 @ 8:00am

The weeks are whizzing by in Year 3 and the children are producing some super work!

This week we had lots of fun making our own 'Slimy Spaghetti' in a forest school based activity. Just like Mrs Twit when she makes Mr Twit spaghetti full of worms, we added as many disgusting things as we could find to our own spaghetti. The children LOVED this activity and we used it as the basis for writing our own play scripts. We also channelled our inner Mr and Mrs Twit when we acted out a scene from The Twits. The children used a range of props and the expression they used was a joy to watch.

The children have continued to produce Kandinsky style pieces, using a range mediums to create their own shape design, including oils, watercolours and pastels. In Science we have continued to explore reflective materials and why these are useful. We had lots of fun bouncing light off various reflective items.

On Friday your child should have brought home their Christmas card design. If you would like to order a set of cards, mugs or gift wrapping then please order online, following the instructions. However, we must have your child's design back by Friday 18th at the latest in order to send them to the printer.

For homework this week additional Maths has been set, along with spellings to be tested on Friday 18th October.
