Year 3 Weekly Blog (06. 09. 19)

Date: 6th Sep 2019 @ 2:22pm

And just like that it's Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn Term and what a wonderful 'Hello' it has been! The children have been amazing this week and have settled so well into the routines of Junior life. We have begun to look at place value within maths and started to read stories written by the great Roald Dahl who we will continue study over the next couple of weeks. We have also done lots of work on what makes a great friend! A super start to the new term.

Can we just remind you that in Year 3 there is no fruit given to the children. They are able to buy a piece of fruit each day or bring in a piece from home and we would recommend this as lunchtime is now 20 minutes later that in the Infants. As the children are no longer in the Infants they are responsible for handing in any letters or money sent in from home. If sending in letters please remind your child to hand it in.

For homework this week could we ask that the children cover their homework books in a backing paper of their choice.

An early reminder for your diary, the 'New to Year 3' meeting is Wednesday 25th September. More information to follow.

Finally, we are beginning to look at light and dark in Science and are sending out a plea for help! If you have a torch at home could you please label it and allow your child to bring it to school on Thursday (12th Sept) for us to use in lesson. They will bring it home that day. Thankyou!
