Year 3 Blog 22.03.24

Date: 22nd Mar 2024 @ 2:15pm

Another super, productive and busy week in Year 3! The highlight being our amazing singing performance to the whole school with help from the Liverpool Cathedral. We are so proud of the children! They sang beautifully and confidently! The rest of the school were very impressed!

In maths, we have been learning about angles, focusing on acute, obtuse and right angles. The children in Year 3 have demonstrated a brilliant understanding of this topic so far! Test your child at home by asking them to explain what each of these angles mean.

In English, the children have begun their independent writing based on Earthquakes, in the form of a non-chronological report, with sub-headings and scientific vocabulary. The children have written their work in their neat writing books, before writing on an A3 poster next week with illustrations to support their writing.

Home learning – homework is set on Doodle, scheduled for a Friday each week. This week, there are two pieces of maths homework set on Angles. Also, don’t forget to complete home learning activities. Home learning books are to be handed in on a Wednesday.

Catalyst Sleepover Trip – a reminder that we will be holding a zoom meeting on Tuesday 26th March 2024 at 5pm. This will be an opportunity for us to provide you with further information about the trip. If you can’t make the meeting, we will record the meeting and publish on the school website.

Don’t forget to wear a cap on Monday! This is to raise awareness for those sadly suffering with a Brain Tumour.

Let’s hope that the sun shines all weekend again. One more week until Easter…

As always, thank you for your continuing support. We really appreciate it!

The Year Three Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
