10.7.20

The last week of term! We would never have believed in September how our year together would turn out and it's with a heavy heart we say goodbye to a year group we have truly loved. We are so sad that our time as year group was cut so short. The year 4 teachers are in for a real treat in September.

This weeks home learning is all about transition from Year 3 to Year 4. It encourages the children to reflect on the learning and experiences that have taken place, say goodbye and look with excitement at the year to come. Try to take the time to work through these activities with your child and make time to talk. Normally the children would have met their new teacher and seen their classroom by now and know what to expect in September but, for the majority of the children, it will be a whole new experience. If you check out the school website this week each teacher has left their new class a message and has read a story to help to ease transition. We hope you enjoy the messages from Mr Williams and Mrs Cocks.

Also, at 4pm on Monday, your child's end of year report will be delivered via email. Keep an eye out for it and we'd be extremely grateful if you could use the link to answer the short survey.

You have all worked so unbelievably hard over the last 17 weeks, finding your new normal, and we couldn't be prouder. Over the Summer break try to take the time to relax and recharge your batteries and enjoy life without any formal home learning. This will help to prepare you for our return in September. Although there will be no formal home learning, many parents have asked what they can continue to do to support their child over the break. All of our digital platforms will remain active all Summer so you can continue to enjoy TTRockstars, Numbots, Oxford Owl stories etc. Reading with, and to, your child each day remains extremely important as does the learning of times tables and opportunities to use practical maths like time telling, use of money, weighing and measuring.

And so it comes to an end. May we take this opprtunity to thank you so much for all of your support this year but most importantly say a massive thankyou to all of the Year 3 children. You have no idea how much we have loved teaching you. You are kind, funny, clever, great company and we are so going to miss our little Year 3 family. We wish you a really happy, sunny Summer and lots of luck for September. Thank you for a wonderful year.

Lots of love,

Mrs Roberts, Miss Irvin, Mrs Wilson and Miss Murdock xxxx
