Year 2 Weekly Blog 28.4.23

Another fabulous week in Year 2!

In PE we had a brilliant orienteering activity organised which the children loved! They were given electronic buzzers and a map to find lots of key points and gain points for their team - it was excellent and everyone had so much fun!

In Geography, we have been building on our knowledge of different countries in the UK and surrounding seas.  The children labelled capital cities of the UK and surrounding seas on their own tea stained maps.

Continuing with our topic, we have been learning more about the Great Fire of London and thinking about the differences between London then and now.

We have also been adding to our Great Fire of London dance!

In music, we have been looking at the dynamics when we are singing and how we can change the dynamics during a song, the children learnt a very catchy song today which we all enjoyed singing a long to!

Have a fabulous weekend!

The Year 2 Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
