Year 2 Weekly Blog (25.5.23)

What a fantastic last week of our term!

The children have been busy finishing off our Great Fire of London topic, so many of them have commented on how their not ready for it to be over!

During English we have been asking key questions about the fire and answering them using the knowledge we have learnt this term.

In Maths we have again been revising the key topics from over the year, practicing our taught methods.

2GN had their golden ticket celebration where we chose to have a movie afternoon, the children really enjoyed getting cosy and enjoying a film and some cinema snacks!

In PE we have finished our Great Fire of London dance which was beautiful! After, a lot of the children said it was their favourite PE topic this year!

Our final music lesson we listened to the children practicing and performing their group melodies.

I'm sure a lot of the children will tell you they're going to miss our Great Fire of London topic, it's been a great term! Next, we move on to 'A Walk on the Wild Side' which is an equally fantastic topic. We shall be uploading the overview very shortly so keep an eye out for that. Please also don't forget the second day we return we will be off to Martin Mere to kick start our topic!

Have a brilliant half term everyone!

The Year 2 Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
