Year 2 Weekly Blog (21.12.24)

What a wonderfully festive week we have had! From Christmas takeover day to watching year 1 perform at the Christmas church service, we have had a great week!

Christmas takeover day was excellent! Thank you to everyone involved, we all had so much fun and the children absolutely loved it. We have attached some pictures from the day below.

We finished our RE topic, discussing what we think an angel would look like, the children had lots of different ideas and what then spoke about how an angel is a messenger of God and Jesus. We then made our own angels, some of made them out of paper plates, drawings or oragami angels.

We won't be setting homework over the holidays, the children need a well deserved break! We will give their home learning books back in the New Year.

We hope you all have a lovely Christmas. Thank you so much for your cards, gifts and well wishes, we really appreciate it!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

The Year 2 Team!

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
