Year 2 Weekly Blog (18.11.22)

Date: 17th Nov 2022 @ 9:05pm

We've had a nativity fun filled week this week! Lots and lots of practicing, prop making and costume fittings! The children are working really hard learning their scripts and giving their performance their all.  We had our first run through Thursday and we're really excited it's all coming together, we can't wait for you to see it soon.

As part of anti bullying week we had a special assembly and also spoke about kindness and friendships in class and shared the story of Yasmine and Tom. It was great to see all the children in their odd socks!

In Maths we have begun to introduce the children to division. We've been exploring how to split numbers into equal groups using different resources.
In RE we looked at the story of Prophet Muhammad and the ants and the children retold the story on their own storyboards.
As part of our topic 'Celebrations around the world' we've been looking at what happens at the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr and children created their own Mehendi patterns.

Our apologies again with the lack of photos, we're spending a lot of time on the nativity and we don't want to be giving any sneak peeks!

Have a lovely weekend!
The Year 2 team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
