Year 2 Weekly blog 16.6.23

Date: 15th Jun 2023 @ 5:12pm

What a fantastic, HOT week we have had in Year 2.

Another brilliant trip seeing a live orchestra at the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, which was great for the children to see after listening to the orchestra during music last term. We had a lovely morning and the children then wrote about their experience.

In PE the children have been off orienteering which we are all really enjoying.

Art week began this week and the children have participated in some wonderful activities. On Thursday we had maypole dancing and we learnt a dance routine to Matilda with Last Act. On Friday we had another fantasic workshop with Last Act singing songs from Matilda. See the fabulous photos of these attached.

In computing the children were getting creative on Scratch Junior, creating characters and algorithms to make their characters move and talk - they loved this!

During RE we continued recapping our sacred books unit and thought about what the three special books (The Bible, Torah and Qur'an) mean to their religions.

We hope you have a lovely weekend and enjoy the sunshine!

The Year 2 Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
