Year 2 Weekly Blog (16.12.22)

Date: 16th Dec 2022 @ 2:34pm

What a brilliant last full week we have had! The highlight I'm sure for most of the children was Christmas takeover day! We all just had so much fun! Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to the organisation and help on the day, it really was a day to remember.

The children began the week with a Christmas show, which they all really enjoyed!

In Maths this week we have been looking back at everything we have learnt this year, and started our new topic of length. Today the children have got practical and have been measuring in metres.

We have been continuing our DT project which you will get to see next week. The children have been putting their running stitches to the test when creating a christmas pouch.

Following on from the nativity, the children independently wrote their recount of the Christmas story and we have also been getting stuck into christmas arts and crafts.

Have a lovely festive weekend!

The Year 2 team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
