Year 2 Weekly Blog (16. 7. 21)

Date: 15th Jul 2021 @ 11:54am

We have all had a great final full-week in school.  The children have enjoyed lots of different end-of-year things: watching the Year 6 leavers’ show, making the most of the sunshine during our sports day on Tuesday afternoon; a habitat walk on Thursday morning; and in between all of that, making their ‘habitat shoebox’, which is a culmination of all their hard work from this half-term’s topic which has been focused on learning all about the natural world and different types of habitats.

On Friday, 2G enjoyed their final Golden Ticket celebration of the Year: a water fight and playing with bubbles outside.  All of the children had lots of fun and it was a nice way to celebrate what has been a tricky and often disjointed year together.

We are looking forward to the final few days in school next week before the summer holidays begin.  We can’t believe it has gone so quickly!

Finally, a big ‘Thank You!’ to all of the adults who accompanied the children on the trip out of school on Thursday - it was very much appreciated, we were grateful for your company; it is a shame that we weren’t able to go on more trips throughout the year!

Enjoy the weekend, and we will see you all again on Monday!

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
