Year 2 weekly blog 12.5.23

Date: 9th May 2023 @ 6:43pm

Another busy week, it's flying by!

The children have been busy writing diary entries, imaginging they were in London in 1666 when The Great Fire of London broke out. We have seen some very descriptive entries!

During computing the children investigated what a computer actually is.

We have been continuing our sketching journey in Art and the children were creating different drawings of shells, some beautiful results.

In RE we read the story of The Prophet Muhammed and the black stone and discussed what the story represented and what it means to be trustworthy and fair

Meanwhile in music we were composing our own melodies on glockenspiels and had fun making musical notation for our friends to be able to play our melodies too.

We discussed in PSHE how to cope with change and what we can do if we are ever worried, the children had some lovely ideas and we looked at the story of the worry monster.

We hope you all have a fantastic weekend.

The Year 2 Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
