Year 2 blog (9.12.22)

Date: 9th Dec 2022 @ 6:45am

What an amazing week the children have had! We are so proud of them all and to end on such a high last night was brilliant. Over the last 3 weeks the children have given the nativity their absolute all and created an incredible show. To think that 6 and 7 year olds can perform a show of 40+ minutes without any adults or older children on stage is really something to be proud of! We know we've been lacking with photos recently so now the show is over we can share with you all the pictures we've been taking a long the way!

In other areas, we are coming to the end of our topic 'Celebrations Around the World' and have been making Christmas booklets of the Christmas story.

We have also started this terms DT project and the children have been showing us their brilliant sewing skills. We were really impressed with how well the children were able to tie knots, thread the kneedle and practice a running stitch!

In Maths, we are coming to the end of multiplication and division so have been looking back on what we have been learning so far and consolidating those methods.

We hope you all enjoyed the show!
Have a lovely weekend,

The Year 2 team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
