Year 2 Blog 10. 12. 21

Date: 7th Dec 2021 @ 12:57pm

This week, the children have been focusing a lot of their energy on the Nativity which will be performed next week!  The children are getting very excited, and we are all looking forward to being able to share 'the greatest story ever told' with friends, family and the rest of the school!

In between lots of practising, the children have continued to learn about the Good News at Christmas - retelling the story of the birth of Jesus in words and pictures: the Angels bringing the 'Good News' to the Shepherds; Mary and Joseph having to go to Bethlehem to be counted for the census and having no place to stay, and then having to stay in a simple stable where Jesus would be born.

On Thursday, the children had their final full rehearsal with their costumes ready for next Monday's first performance.

Remember that next week, there are lots of other exciting things going on in school (besides performing the Nativity!): the Christmas Carol Service at St Luke's Church on Tuesday; Breakfast with Santa on Wednesday morning and then Christmas dinner at lunchtime; and on Friday morning the children will be having their Christmas party!  And aside from all of that, next week is also the penultimate week of term!

Enjoy your weekend and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday!

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
