Year 1 Weekly Blog (2. 10. 2020)

Date: 1st Oct 2020 @ 12:50pm

Friday 2nd October

Time certainly flies by! We’ve had another busy week in Year 1. We’ve continued with our super self-portraits and enjoyed sharing poetry and rhymes for National Poetry Day.

We have been talking about the Creation story and took the opportunity to get our own creative juices flowing. It was wonderful to see mega structures, dance routines and drawings to name but a few. We considered how we felt once we stepped back and saw what we had achieved. Amazing!

In the week ahead, we look forward exploring self -portraits further and signs of Autumn too. Looking at the weather forecast we will have plenty to talk about.

If there are any queries, please contact the office and they will forward to Miss O’Neill or Mrs. Page.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Stay safe and well.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
