Year 1 Weekly Blog (2. 7. 21)

Date: 28th Jun 2021 @ 12:48pm

Friday 2nd July

This week, we found out how Mr. and Mrs. Grinling saved a whale! We also shared more super sea stories. We enjoyed The Rainbow Fish and Whales’ Song by Dyan Sheldon.

We discussed how some animals are endangered and protected. Also, about the red squirrels, close to home, and how they are cared for.  We thought about different animals too and how they can be grouped according to what they eat: carnivores, herbivores and omnivores.

In readiness for Sports Day, we had fun preparing for it, during our PE sessions. We will be sure to take lots of photographs to post.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Take care and thank you for all your support.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
