Year 1 Blog 9.6.23

Date: 8th Jun 2023 @ 11:13pm

Friday 9th June

A short but eventful week for us all! We certainly had some fun in the sun, catching up with our friends and enjoying our PE session outside.

We began our new topic, “Beside the Seaside” and thought about the physical and human features present there.

This week, you will see, in the Home Learning section, that we have set a specific topic related homework. This comes in the form of a questionnaire and the information will be used in future discussions. Please go to the Home Learning page for further information.

Towards the end of next week, we commence our Arts Week activities. We are really looking forward to all the planned activities during this time from: dancing and singing to art and design and technology. We are thankful to Mrs. Harper, and all the volunteers, for planning such a wonderful week for us. Can’t wait!

Have a lovely weekend.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
